Litigation Legal Assistant - Portland, OR
LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a high-performing civil litigation team seeking a skilled Litigation Legal Assistant to support a senior shareholder with a busy medical malpractice defense and complex litigation practice. This role requires strong Oregon e‑filing experience, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage high‑volume deadlines with precision. The successful candidate will join a collaborative team and will be trusted with meaningful responsibility from day one.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and process all court filings, including Oregon e‑filing
• Maintain attorney calendars, schedule deadlines, hearings, and meetings
• Handle docketing and track critical litigation dates
• Assist with trial preparation, including assembling trial notebooks and exhibits
• Manage legal documents within the firm’s document management system (ProLaw experience is a plus)
• Open new matters and support case organization
• Maintain frequent communication with attorneys regarding schedules, filings, and court requirements
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness in all filings and work product
Required Qualifications:
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a legal assistant in civil litigation
• Strong understanding of Oregon civil procedure and state court rules
• Trial and trial‑prep experience
• Experience with electronic court filing and docketing
• Proficiency in litigation calendaring and deadline management
• Ability to manage a high volume of tasks independently with minimal oversight
• Medical malpractice or complex litigation experience preferred, not required
• Washington e‑filing experience is a plus
Work Environment & Schedule:
• Hybrid schedule: 2 days onsite, 3 days remote
• Full-time onsite required during initial training (approximately 1 month)
• Additional in-office days may be needed during trial prep or trial
• Hybrid schedule subject to adherence to attendance expectations
Job Details & Benefits:
Location: Portland, Oregon
Schedule: Hybrid (2 days onsite, 3 days remote after training)
Compensation: $80,000–$85,000 annually
Bonus: Eligible for year‑end discretionary bonus
Job Type: Full-time, Direct Hire
• Medical and dental insurance: 100% employer‑paid premiums for employee-only coverage (Regence plan with $3,750 deductible covered by employer); 60% employer-paid for dependents
• Life insurance: 2x salary plus $10,000

• Retirement: Immediate 401(k) eligibility; Safe Harbor employer contribution of 3% of total compensation; discretionary profit‑sharing after 1 year and 1,000 hours worked
