A growing mortgage servicing team is hiring a Loss Mitigation Underwriter to support an active pipeline. This role is ideal for someone looking to expand their experience in mortgage servicing and loss mitigation while working in a structured, deadline driven environment.
 
What This Role Focuses On
• Review borrower financial documents and supporting materials
• Evaluate loss mitigation options including forbearance, repayment plans, deferrals, and loan modifications
• Manage assigned files within established timelines and investor guidelines
• Apply underwriting logic and investor rules with guidance from leadership and peers
• Track file status and decisions across internal systems
• Partner with internal teams to ensure files move forward accurately and on time
 
What This Role Offers
• Clear workflows and defined expectations
• Exposure to multiple loss mitigation programs and investor guidelines
• Ongoing development of analytical, documentation review, and decision making skills
• High volume pipeline experience within an established servicing environment
 
Required Background
• Experience in mortgage servicing, underwriting support, or loss mitigation
• Ability to work in a fast paced, metrics focused environment
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow defined processes
• Basic to intermediate Excel skills
• Availability to work full time during PST business hours
 
Nice to Have but Not Required
• Exposure to FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, or USDA loans
• Familiarity with compliance or regulatory guidelines
• Experience reviewing financial documents or borrower income
• Bilingual skills
 
Work Details
• Fully remote
• Monday through Friday, PST hours
• Contract role with potential for long term conversion based on performance
 

Pay Details: $23.46 per hour
