Operations Manager – Manufacturing (Satellite Facility)
Location: Houston, TX 77070
Work Type: 100% Onsite
Salary Range: $125K–$140K
About the Role
We are seeking a highly driven and experienced Operations Manager – Manufacturing to lead the day-to-day operations of a satellite manufacturing facility focused on the fabrication and assembly of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) modules.
This leader will be responsible for building and scaling a high-performing manufacturing organization in a fast-paced, startup environment. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in manufacturing operations, a passion for operational excellence, and a proven ability to drive results across safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.
What You’ll Do
Operational Leadership
Lead all site operations including production, assembly, warehousing, shipping/receiving, inventory control, and facility management
Serve as the primary operational leader responsible for meeting production and project commitments
Develop and execute strategies to support production growth and facility scalability
Production & Performance
Drive production schedule attainment and ensure on-time delivery
Monitor and improve key operational KPIs such as:
On-time delivery
First-time quality
Labor productivity
Schedule attainment
Capacity utilization
Inventory accuracy
Safety performance
Lead daily production meetings and KPI reviews
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner closely with Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, and Project Management teams
Align operations with production schedules and project milestones
Support ERP system implementation and reporting
People Leadership & Development
Recruit, develop, and lead supervisors and hourly production teams
Manage staffing, labor utilization, overtime, and resource allocation
Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement
Establish training, succession planning, and employee development programs
Quality, Safety & Continuous Improvement
Champion a safety-first culture and ensure OSHA compliance
Lead safety audits, investigations, and corrective actions
Drive quality initiatives focused on first-time quality and defect prevention
Support ISO 9001 processes, corrective actions, and NCR management
Implement lean manufacturing tools including 5S, standard work, and waste reduction
Optimize material flow, kitting strategies, and production layouts
What You Bring
Core Skills
Strong leadership experience in fast-paced manufacturing environments
Deep knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
Expertise in production planning, scheduling, and capacity management
Ability to analyze KPIs and drive measurable performance improvements
Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Experience with ERP systems and operational reporting
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred
8–10+ years of experience in manufacturing or operations management
Experience managing complex manufacturing or industrial operations required
Preferred experience in:
MEP systems manufacturing
Data center infrastructure
Modular construction or prefabrication
Industrial assembly operations
Experience in startup or high-growth manufacturing environments preferred
Background supporting large-scale, project-based manufacturing and logistics coordination preferred
Pay Details: $120,000.00 to $140,000.00 per year
