LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a rapidly growing organization to identify a Payroll & Benefits Administrator. This role is essential in ensuring smooth, accurate payroll processing and a positive employee experience through effective benefits administration. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Position Summary:
The Payroll & Benefits Administrator will oversee end-to-end payroll operations while managing employee benefits programs and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations. This individual will serve as a key resource for employees and collaborate closely with HR leadership to maintain efficient and compliant processes.
Pay: $70,000 - $85,000 (Based on Experience)
Location: Sacramento, CA
Work Type: Direct Hire, Fully Onsite
Hours: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Operations
Process payroll on a regular schedule with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws
Maintain payroll records, audits, and reporting documentation
Research and resolve payroll discrepancies, providing timely support to employees
Benefits Administration
Administer employee benefits programs including enrollments, updates, and terminations
Reconcile benefits billing and ensure accuracy across vendors
Act as a point of contact for employee questions related to benefits offerings
Support open enrollment and ongoing benefits communication initiatives
Compliance & Reporting
Maintain up-to-date employee records in alignment with company policies and legal requirements
Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports for internal stakeholders and external agencies
Assist with audits and ensure documentation is audit-ready at all times
Employee Support & Experience
Provide responsive, professional support to employees regarding payroll and benefits inquiries
Partner with HR to enhance processes and improve overall employee experience
Contribute to a collaborative and service-focused team environment
Qualifications
Required:
4+ years of experience in payroll, benefits, or HR administration
Strong understanding of payroll processes, compliance, and regulations
High attention to detail with strong organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact across all levels
Preferred:
Experience with HRIS/payroll systems such as Paylocity or similar platforms
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
Bilingual Spanish is a plus
Experience in a multi-entity or high-growth environment
