We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Accountant to support payroll and HR operations for a growing organization over in East Atlanta. This role requires hands-on payroll experience, including managing recoverable and non-recoverable draws, ensuring compliance, and supporting day-to-day HR functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process bi-weekly hourly and semi-monthly salaried payroll accurately and on schedule

  • Administer payroll components including recoverable and non-recoverable draws

  • Review, approve, and process employee expense reports and reimbursements

  • Maintain payroll records in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations

  • Manage employee timekeeping systems and research/resolution of payroll discrepancies

  • Oversee state tax accounts, notices, filings, and compliance requirements

  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records within the HRIS

  • Support onboarding and offboarding activities, including new hire orientation, benefits enrollment, and exit processes

  • Assist with benefits administration (health plans, 401(k), leave management, etc.)

  • Respond to employee payroll and HR-related inquiries, escalating issues as needed

  • Partner with the Director of Human Resources on initiatives related to performance management, training, compliance, and employee engagement

  • Provide recruiting support as needed, including job postings, resume review, and interview scheduling

 

Qualifications

Required

  • 2+ years of experience in payroll and/or human resources

  • Working knowledge of payroll laws, wage and hour regulations, and compliance requirements

  • Hands-on experience with ADP payroll systems, HRIS platforms, and benefits administration tools

  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Strong customer service mindset with a collaborative approach

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field

  • Experience in the mortgage or financial services industry



Pay Details: $70,000.00 to $75,000.00 per year
