Payroll Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Accountant to support payroll and HR operations for a growing organization over in East Atlanta. This role requires hands-on payroll experience, including managing recoverable and non-recoverable draws, ensuring compliance, and supporting day-to-day HR functions.
Key Responsibilities
Process bi-weekly hourly and semi-monthly salaried payroll accurately and on schedule
Administer payroll components including recoverable and non-recoverable draws
Review, approve, and process employee expense reports and reimbursements
Maintain payroll records in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Manage employee timekeeping systems and research/resolution of payroll discrepancies
Oversee state tax accounts, notices, filings, and compliance requirements
Maintain accurate and confidential employee records within the HRIS
Support onboarding and offboarding activities, including new hire orientation, benefits enrollment, and exit processes
Assist with benefits administration (health plans, 401(k), leave management, etc.)
Respond to employee payroll and HR-related inquiries, escalating issues as needed
Partner with the Director of Human Resources on initiatives related to performance management, training, compliance, and employee engagement
Provide recruiting support as needed, including job postings, resume review, and interview scheduling
Qualifications
Required
2+ years of experience in payroll and/or human resources
Working knowledge of payroll laws, wage and hour regulations, and compliance requirements
Hands-on experience with ADP payroll systems, HRIS platforms, and benefits administration tools
Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Strong customer service mindset with a collaborative approach
Preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
Experience in the mortgage or financial services industry
Pay Details: $70,000.00 to $75,000.00 per year
