Payroll Accountant
LHH Recruitment is working with a company in Mesa who is in search of a payroll accountant to join their team, This job is fully onsite, and is ideal for those with payroll and GL accounting experience. The salary is up to $75,000. ADP Workforce Now experience is required!
This role is responsible for managing payroll processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance, and supporting accounting functions related to payroll. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with ADP Workforce Now and a solid understanding of payroll accounting practices.
Key Responsibilities
Process full-cycle, multi-state payroll using ADP Workforce Now
Ensure accurate calculation of wages, bonuses, deductions, and taxes
Reconcile payroll accounts and support general ledger postings
Prepare and post payroll journal entries
Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes related to payroll
Support audits by providing payroll documentation and reports
Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely manner
Collaborate with HR and Finance teams on payroll-related matters
Qualifications
Required: Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now
3+ years of payroll processing and/or payroll accounting experience
Strong knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements
Experience with account reconciliations and journal entries
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
