Payroll & Benefits Specialist
Location: Sarasota, FL (100% On-Site)
Schedule: Full-Time
Compensation: Up to $55,000 | Direct Hire

Position Summary
A growing Sarasota-based organization is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll & Benefits Specialist to support payroll processing, benefits administration, and HR compliance. This full?time, on?site role requires strong analytical skills, advanced Excel capabilities, and experience working with HRIS/payroll systems in a fast-paced environment. Local candidates only.

Key Responsibilities
• Process and audit bi-weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy of timekeeping, deductions, and employee data
• Maintain HRIS records and support payroll setup, reporting fields, and data integrity
• Administer employee benefits including enrollments, changes, invoice reconciliation, and open enrollment support
• Generate payroll, compensation, benefits, census, and headcount reports
• Reconcile payroll data and benefit-related billings
• Support compliance filings including 1095, 5500, EEO-1, unemployment, and workers comp
• Administer employee leave programs (including FMLA) and maintain required documentation
• Assist with internal/external audits and employee inquiries
• Maintain confidentiality and ensure regulatory compliance across payroll, benefits, and HR data
• Support HR reporting projects and process improvements as assigned

Qualifications
• 3–5 years of experience in payroll, HRIS, benefits, or a related analytical HR/finance role
• Advanced Excel skills including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis
• Experience with HRIS/payroll systems (UKG preferred)
• Strong accuracy, organization, and problem?solving abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline?driven environment
• Experience supporting audits, reporting, or compliance preferred

Work Environment
• 100% on-site at Sarasota corporate headquarters
• General office environment with standard computer/desk work, occasional lifting up to 30 lbs
