Job Title: Payroll & Human Resource Specialist
Location: Vernon, CA (Onsite)

Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 annually
About the Role:
Our client is seeking an experienced Payroll & Human Resource Specialist to join their team. This role will be responsible for processing high-volume, multi-state payroll for 500+ employees while also supporting HR initiatives, including onboarding, employee relations, and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Process end-to-end, multi-state payroll for 500+ employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Manage payroll audits, reconciliations, and reporting
Maintain and update payroll records, tax documents, and employee data
Partner with the HR Manager to support onboarding, new hire documentation, and orientation processes
Assist with employee relations matters, including responding to employee inquiries and supporting issue resolution
Develop, document, and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for payroll and HR processes
Ensure compliance with company policies and labor laws, particularly in a manufacturing environment
Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, finance, and leadership teams
Qualifications:
3+ years of payroll experience, including multi-state payroll processing for high-volume employee populations (500+)
Experience supporting HR functions such as onboarding and employee relations
Bilingual in English and Spanish (required)
Strong knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and labor compliance
Experience creating and improving SOPs and process documentation
Proficiency with payroll systems (ADP, Paycom, UKG, etc.) and strong Excel skills
Excellent attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Preferred:
Experience in food manufacturing or similar high-volume environments
CPP certification or HR certification is a plus
Pay Details: $75,000.00 to $90,000.00 per year
