Payroll Specialist (Bilingual Spanish)

Location: Vernon, CA
Compensation: $65,000 – $90,000 annually DOE

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our growing manufacturing team in Vernon, CA. The ideal candidate will have experience processing payroll in a high-volume environment, strong knowledge of California payroll regulations, and the ability to communicate fluently in both English and Spanish. Experience with Paylocity is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Process full-cycle payroll for hourly and salaried employees on a weekly and/or bi-weekly basis.

  • Ensure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, bonuses, commissions, deductions, and garnishments.

  • Maintain employee payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.

  • Review and audit timesheets, attendance records, and payroll reports for accuracy.

  • Process new hires, terminations, pay rate changes, and employee status updates within the payroll system.

  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

  • Manage payroll tax reporting, wage attachments, and benefit deductions.

  • Reconcile payroll reports, payroll liabilities, and general ledger accounts.

  • Partner with Human Resources and Accounting to ensure accurate employee data and payroll processing.

  • Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and audits.

  • Support payroll compliance initiatives and maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of payroll processing experience required.

  • Manufacturing industry experience preferred.

  • Fluent in both English and Spanish (written and verbal) required.

  • Experience processing payroll for 200+ employees preferred.

  • Paylocity experience strongly preferred.

  • Strong understanding of California wage and hour laws.

  • Experience with payroll taxes, garnishments, benefits administration, and leave tracking.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables.

  • High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.



Pay Details: $65,000.00 to $90,000.00 per hour
