Location: Detroit, MI
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire
Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (some flexibility with start times)
Work Environment: Fully On-site | Paid Parking Provided
Compensation: $30–$34/hour
LHH Recruitment Solutions is supporting a client in Detroit, MI in their search for a Payroll Specialist. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity offering stability, competitive pay, and the chance to join a collaborative, on-site team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Process full-cycle payroll accurately and timely on a recurring basis
Maintain and update employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, and changes
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies
Respond to employee payroll inquiries professionally and promptly
Partner with HR and Accounting teams to ensure accurate data flow and reporting
Support payroll audits and year-end processing as needed
Qualifications:
Previous payroll processing experience required
Strong knowledge of payroll laws, regulations, and best practices
High attention to detail and accuracy
Proficiency with payroll systems and Microsoft Excel
Ability to work on-site and meet consistent payroll deadlines
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
