Location: Houston, TX (Onsite with some flexibility)
Salary: $55,000 – $60,000 annually

Job Overview
A confidential organization in Houston, TX is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to support high‑volume payroll operations in a fast‑paced environment. This role is best suited for a payroll professional who is adaptable, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working with minimal supervision during periods of change.
Key Responsibilities
Process payroll accurately across weekly, bi‑weekly, and/or semi‑monthly cycles
Support high‑volume payroll for union and non‑union employee populations
Balance and reconcile payroll prior to submission
Process overtime, bonuses, adjustments, and off‑cycle payrolls
Maintain employee payroll records including tax setup, direct deposits, and garnishments
Support multi‑state payroll processing and compliance requirements
Respond to payroll inquiries from employees and internal partners
Maintain confidentiality of payroll and employee data
Qualifications
Payroll experience in a high‑volume, deadline‑driven environment
Multi‑state payroll experience; California preferred
Experience with payroll taxes and garnishments
Strong attention to detail and time‑management skills
Ability to work independently in a fast‑changing environment
Proficiency with Excel and payroll systems
Preferred Experience
Union payroll exposure
In‑house payroll or gross‑to‑net processing experience
Canadian payroll exposure
