Accounting Payroll Specialist
Contract-to-Hire | $50,000–$65,000 annually
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Payroll Specialist to support payroll and accounting operations in a contract-to-hire capacity. This role is ideal for someone who is hands-on with payroll processing, enjoys working with numbers, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Process full-cycle payroll accurately and on schedule (weekly/biweekly)
Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Reconcile payroll reports, deductions, taxes, and benefits
Support general accounting functions including journal entries and account reconciliations
Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies
Partner with HR and accounting teams to ensure data accuracy
Qualifications
2+ years of payroll and/or accounting experience
Strong understanding of payroll laws, taxes, and compliance
Experience with payroll systems and accounting software
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
High attention to detail with strong organizational skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive data
Preferred
Experience in multi-state payroll
Background in both payroll and general accounting
Prior contract or contract-to-hire experience

Annual salary range: $50,000–$65,000 (based on experience and position)
Contract-to-hire opportunity
