LHH Recruitment Solutions have partnered with a  company located in Plymouth Meeting, PA . We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll & Benefits Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for managing payroll operations and benefits administration across multiple entities, including unionized environments. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of payroll compliance, benefits coordination, and a proactive approach to process improvement.

Job Title: Payroll & Benefits Specialist
Location: Plymouth Meeting, PA (Onsite 4 days/week)
Salary: $50,000 – $65,000
Job Type: Full-time 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and issue semi-monthly payrolls for multiple companies, vessels, and union groups

  • Manage payroll deductions including 401(k), union dues, and FSA contributions

  • Coordinate with Accounts Payable to ensure timely payments to benefit providers and unions

  • Maintain employee records related to supplemental benefits, vacation travel pay, and union advances

  • Monitor eligibility and enroll new hires in medical and 401(k) plans per union agreements

  • Administer monthly payments for medical, dental, short-term disability, and life insurance

  • Respond to employment verifications and unemployment inquiries

  • Process bonuses and complete annual pension reports

  • Conduct annual non-discrimination testing

  • Recommend and implement improvements to payroll and benefits procedures

  • Support ad-hoc financial projects as needed

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing complex payroll, including unionized environments

  • At least 3 years of experience in benefits administration

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. payroll tax and regulatory compliance

  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred

  • Maritime industry experience a plus

  • Must be able to work onsite in Plymouth Meeting, PA four days per week

Pay Details: $50,000.00 to $65,000.00 per year
