Job Title: Payroll Specialist
Location: Seattle, WA (Hybrid)
Pay: $30–$35/hour DOE
Contract Length: 8-Month Contract

About the Role:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team on an 8-month contract. This hybrid role, based in Seattle, WA, will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with company policies and state/federal regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong payroll experience, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process bi-weekly/multi-state payroll accurately and on time

• Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws

• Review and reconcile timecards, deductions, and adjustments

• Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and deductions

• Prepare and distribute payroll reports for management and accounting teams

• Assist with payroll tax filings and year-end reporting (W-2, 1099, etc.)

• Collaborate with HR and Finance to resolve discrepancies and improve processes

• Support audits and provide documentation as needed

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of payroll processing experience (multi-state experience strongly preferred)

• Proficiency with payroll systems (ADP, Workday, Paycom, or similar) and Microsoft Excel

• Solid understanding of payroll regulations, taxes, and compliance requirements

• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills

• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities

• Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment
