Job Title: Payroll Specialist
Location: Seattle, WA (Hybrid)
Pay: $30–$35/hour DOE
Contract Length: 8-Month Contract
About the Role:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team on an 8-month contract. This hybrid role, based in Seattle, WA, will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with company policies and state/federal regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong payroll experience, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities:
Process bi-weekly/multi-state payroll accurately and on time
Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws
Review and reconcile timecards, deductions, and adjustments
Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and deductions
Prepare and distribute payroll reports for management and accounting teams
Assist with payroll tax filings and year-end reporting (W-2, 1099, etc.)
Collaborate with HR and Finance to resolve discrepancies and improve processes
Support audits and provide documentation as needed
Qualifications:
2+ years of payroll processing experience (multi-state experience strongly preferred)
Proficiency with payroll systems (ADP, Workday, Paycom, or similar) and Microsoft Excel
Solid understanding of payroll regulations, taxes, and compliance requirements
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment
