Production Supervisor

LHH is seeking a Production Supervisor for a Direct Hire, Permanent Placement position with a manufacturing client located in the Greater Indianapolis, IN area. In this role, you will join a well-established organization with a positive reputation in the community and is well-known for manufacturing products of the highest level of quality. The Production Supervisor is responsible for managing a team of production employees in day-to-day manufacturing operations, with a strong focus on safety, quality, on-time order delivery, and continuous improvement initiatives. The compensation is commensurate with experience and will range between $70,000-$80,000 per year with Medical Insurance, Paid Time Off, and a 401K Plan.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage production personnel in daily manufacturing operations, ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and on-time customer delivery
Ensure all safety rules, regulations, and programs are followed by production staff; audit and address departmental safety hazards, equipment and guarding malfunctions, and personal safety violations
Monitor production schedules and customer demand to ensure accurate and timely order completion; respond to order deviations, schedule changes, set-up planning, equipment downtime, and other disruptions with urgency
Drive standardized work practices within the assigned production area
Utilize Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles, including leading Kaizen events, driving 5S initiatives, and supporting visual management systems
Support Quality Control circle activities and participate in corrective action and root cause analysis events
Train employees on new and existing work assignments, machinery, tools, and processes in alignment with quality systems and documented standard work
Prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly reports on key performance indicators (KPIs), including schedule attainment, OEE, productivity, production volumes, on-time delivery, downtime, headcount, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives
Approve payroll and support reporting related to safety performance and continuous improvement projects
Qualifications
1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment; prior supervisory experience preferred
Strong working knowledge of state and local safety regulations, safety compliance, and training requirements
Experience leading Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen activities strongly preferred
Prior experience in a TPS or similar environment a plus
Demonstrated versatility, flexibility, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment with a strong sense of urgency
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects effectively
