Project Accountant 

LHH is assisting with a search for a Project Accountant for a Construction Client in Kansas City, MO. We are looking for someone to work on-site with pay starting at $75k annually and going up based on experience. Our ideal candidate will have at least 2+ years of accounting experience within Construction including job costing. Read below for additional details! 

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Project Management to coordinate job setup and organization.

• Accurately set up subcontracts and purchase orders in System.

• Review and process approved Change Orders.

• Ensure subcontractor compliance with contract terms, including bonds, insurance, waivers, and billing.

• Prepare and submit lien waivers for all relevant parties.

• Verify progress billing funds and initiate subcontractor payments.

• Maintain and review the Project Cost Report.

• Generate and process monthly billing.

• Investigate and resolve unbilled project costs.

• Maintain organized financial project files.

• Support financial aspects of project close-out.

• Provide requested financial information to external stakeholders.

• Assist with project-specific audits and other assignments as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or 2+ years of relevant work experience

• Experience in construction accounting

• Proficiency in job costing

• Strong skills in Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and stay organized

Pay Details: $70,000.00 to $85,000.00 per year
