This role partners closely with Project Managers and Operations to ensure accurate job costing, billing, forecasting, and financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate has experience in construction accounting environments and understands the financial rhythm of active job sites.

- Entry: $55,000 - $65,000
- Mid: $70,000 - $80,000
- Senior: $85,000 - $95,000++

Job Description:
- Set up and maintain project cost structures, budgets, cost codes, and job master data
- Track job costs daily and prepare job cost reports for project teams
- Monitor budget?to?actual performance and investigate cost variances
- Maintain work?in?progress (WIP) schedules, including percent complete and revenue recognition support
- Track change orders, retainage, and committed costs
- Prepare and process progress billings in accordance with contract terms
- Support AIA billing, time & materials billing, and cost?plus billing (as applicable)
- Coordinate billing approvals with Project Managers and ownership
- Assist with accounts receivable follow?up related to project billings
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations related to active projects
- Support month?end, quarter?end, and year?end close activities
- Provide project?level financial reporting and analysis to leadership
- Assist with audits and documentation tied to project financials
- Review and process vendor and subcontractor invoices
- Assist with subcontractor pay applications when applicable
- Support lien waivers, insurance tracking, and job compliance documentation
- Partner with AP and Operations to resolve discrepancies
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2+ years of accounting experience; construction or project accounting strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of job cost accounting principles
- Strong Excel skills (lookups, pivot tables, reporting)
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Experience in construction, engineering, or real estate development environments
- Familiarity with WIP reporting and construction revenue recognition
- Experience with construction accounting or ERP systems
- Exposure to audits or job?specific compliance requirements
- Detail?oriented with strong analytical skills
- Effective communicator with project and operations teams
- Comfortable working in fast?paced, deadline?driven environments
- Proactive problem?solver with strong follow?through
