Purchasing Analyst

The Purchasing Analyst supports both supplier procurement and inside sales activities, serving as a key link between suppliers, operations, and customers. This role ensures cost-effective sourcing, competitive pricing, and reliable order fulfillment while supporting revenue growth and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Purchasing & Supply Chain

  • Source and procure finished goods/components to customer-specified prints

  • Negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms with outsourced manufacturers

  • Issue and manage purchase orders; monitor supplier performance (OTD, quality, responsiveness)

  • Support material cost recovery initiatives and pricing updates

  • Maintain inventory levels to meet production demands

  • Coordinate with Sales and Operations on production schedules, shortages, and priorities

Inside Sales & Customer Support

  • Serve as primary contact for assigned purchased component customer accounts

  • Prepare and deliver customer quotations using cost and margin targets

  • Manage order entry, changes, and customer communications

  • Track and follow up on open quotes to improve conversion

  • Participate in daily production meetings to establish delivery commitments

  • Support pricing adjustments, contract terms, and vendor audits

Cross-Functional & Data Support

  • Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Quality on new product launches and PPAPs

  • Support customer complaint resolution and corrective actions

  • Maintain accurate ERP data (pricing, lead times, supplier info, BOMs)

  • Analyze material cost trends and track KPIs, including sales booked, PPV, supplier OTD, and quote win rate

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred

  • 5+ years of experience in purchasing, inside sales, or a hybrid role

  • Experience in precision manufacturing or industrial environments preferred

  • ERP experience required

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills

Salary Range: $80,000-$105,000
