Quality Assurance Manager – Food Manufacturing

A well‑established food manufacturing company, partnered confidentially with LHH, is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to play a key leadership role at a high‑volume processing facility.
This is an opportunity for a hands‑on quality leader who enjoys being on the plant floor, partnering closely with operations, and strengthening systems that protect product integrity, customer trust, and regulatory compliance. The role offers strong visibility, cross‑functional influence, and the chance to elevate a site’s quality and food safety culture.
Salary: $85,000–$100,000
Key Responsibilities
Lead quality assurance, food safety, and regulatory compliance across food processing operations
Oversee plant audits, process checks, documentation reviews, and Glass & Brittle Plastic programs
Support internal, customer, and third‑party audits (SQF, regulatory, customer standards)
Monitor raw materials, in‑process, and finished goods through analytical testing and evaluation
Manage product holds, rework activities, and customer complaint investigations
Partner with Production and Operations to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement
Train and educate production staff on quality standards, food safety, and documentation practices
Conduct facility walk‑throughs, support GMP and housekeeping standards, and manage equipment calibration
Lead and develop QA staff, including scheduling, performance management, and coverage planning
Provide backup leadership for SQF and QA activities as needed
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Agriculture, or a related field
5+ years of progressive leadership experience in Quality Assurance / Quality Control within food manufacturing
Strong knowledge of food processing and/or canning operations
Certifications: PCQI, HACCP
Ability to obtain Better Process Control (BPC) certification within 6 months if not already held
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced production environment
Flexibility to work weekends or extended hours during peak production periods
Preferred
Experience supporting USDA, FDA, Organic, customer, and SQF audits
Experience with report writing and data analysis
Additional professional certifications (e.g., ASQ)
