Location: Kansas City, MO (Hybrid)
Compensation: $115,000 – $130,000 base

About the Role
Our client, a prestigious large law firm, is seeking an experienced Real Estate Finance Paralegal to join their Kansas City office. This is a hybrid position offering a competitive salary and the opportunity to work on sophisticated real estate finance transactions for institutional clients.
Key Responsibilities
Assist attorneys in all phases of commercial real estate finance transactions, including acquisition, disposition, development, and refinancing.
Draft, review, and manage closing documents such as loan agreements, promissory notes, mortgages, deeds of trust, and security instruments.
Coordinate and manage closing checklists, timelines, and deliverables for complex financing deals.
Perform title and survey review, identify and resolve issues, and liaise with title companies and lenders.
Handle defeasance transactions, including preparation of documentation and coordination with third-party providers.
Conduct due diligence, including review of organizational documents, leases, and zoning reports.
Maintain organized electronic and physical files for all transaction-related materials.
Communicate effectively with clients, lenders, and internal teams to ensure smooth closings.
Qualifications
Minimum 5+ years of experience as a paralegal in real estate finance within a law firm or similar setting.
Strong understanding of commercial real estate lending, title and survey review, and closing processes.
Experience with defeasance and other complex financing structures.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems.
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate preferred.

Additional Information:
Personal Time Off (PTO) is offered on an accrual basis up to 184 hours a year, 13 Paid Holidays, and up to 6 weeks of Paid Parental Leave. PTO and holiday hours are prorated based on hire date within the calendar year.
