Location: Kansas City, MO (Hybrid)

Compensation: $115,000 – $130,000 base

Position Type: Full-Time

About the Role

Our client, a prestigious large law firm, is seeking an experienced Real Estate Finance Paralegal to join their Kansas City office. This is a hybrid position offering a competitive salary and the opportunity to work on sophisticated real estate finance transactions for institutional clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys in all phases of commercial real estate finance transactions, including acquisition, disposition, development, and refinancing.

  • Draft, review, and manage closing documents such as loan agreements, promissory notes, mortgages, deeds of trust, and security instruments.

  • Coordinate and manage closing checklists, timelines, and deliverables for complex financing deals.

  • Perform title and survey review, identify and resolve issues, and liaise with title companies and lenders.

  • Handle defeasance transactions, including preparation of documentation and coordination with third-party providers.

  • Conduct due diligence, including review of organizational documents, leases, and zoning reports.

  • Maintain organized electronic and physical files for all transaction-related materials.

  • Communicate effectively with clients, lenders, and internal teams to ensure smooth closings.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience as a paralegal in real estate finance within a law firm or similar setting.

  • Strong understanding of commercial real estate lending, title and survey review, and closing processes.

  • Experience with defeasance and other complex financing structures.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems.

  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate preferred.

Additional Information:

Personal Time Off (PTO) is offered on an accrual basis up to 184 hours a year, 13 Paid Holidays, and up to 6 weeks of Paid Parental Leave. PTO and holiday hours are prorated based on hire date within the calendar year.
