Revenue Accountant

LHH has partnered with an international technology firm on this exciting fully remote Revenue Accountant position. The position will start on a temporary basis, and the candidate must work EST hours. The ideal candidate will have a technical understanding of revenue (ASC 606), strong experience with NetSuite and come from a professional services organization where billing is processed on a contract basis. Responsibilities will include:
Manage and account for revenue in accordance with ASC 606, including contract-based revenue recognition
Oversee revenue processes related to professional services engagements, including:
Percentage-of-completion
Time & Materials (T&M)
Fixed-fee and milestone-based contracts
Utilize NetSuite’s Revenue Management module to:
Set up revenue rules and arrangements
Maintain revenue schedules
Ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition
Partner with billing, project management, and finance teams to ensure alignment between contracts, invoicing, and revenue recognition
Review contracts and statements of work (SOWs) to ensure proper revenue treatment
Support month-end close activities related to revenue, including reconciliations, journal entries, and reporting
Assist with audits and provide revenue-related documentation and support
Identify and help improve revenue accounting processes and internal controls
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Strong NetSuite experience required, specifically with the Revenue Management / Revenue Recognition module
Proven experience in a professional services environment
Hands-on knowledge of:
Contract-based billing
Percentage-of-completion accounting
Time & materials billing
Solid understanding and practical application of ASC 606
Experience supporting month-end close for revenue
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a remote environment
Prior experience in a SaaS or consulting/professional services organization preferred
Pay Details: $50.00 to $75.00 per hour
