Senior Accountant/ Assistant Controller

LHH Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a distribution company We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our growing distribution company. This is a unique opportunity for a finance professional who is eager to take ownership of accounting operations and grow into a Controller role. You’ll work closely with leadership to shape financial strategy and ensure operational excellence.

Job Title: Senior Accountant
Salary: $80- $95k 
Location: Onsite – Philadelphia, PA 19125
Employment Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls
• Assist with audits and tax filings
• Implement process improvements and financial systems upgrades
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business growth
• Mentor junior accounting staff as the team expands

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in distribution, logistics, or manufacturing
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP)
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Leadership potential and desire to grow into a Controller role
