Senior Accountant

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant for a year-end accounting project with one of our clients. This project-based opportunity is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who can quickly step in, support year-end activities, ensure accurate financial reporting, and help the team meet important deadlines. This contract role offers $43-$50 per hour and a hybrid schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Support month-end and year-end close processes

• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules

• Assist with financial statement preparation and reporting

• Analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts for accuracy

• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies

• Prepare audit schedules and provide support during external audits

• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and reconcile account variances

• Assist with accruals, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and other general ledger activities

• Partner with finance and operational teams to gather information and meet reporting deadlines

• Support special projects, process improvements, and cleanup initiatives as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

• 5+ years of accounting experience, including full-cycle accounting and financial reporting

• Strong knowledge of GAAP and month-end/year-end close procedures

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUPs, and data analysis

• Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
