Senior Accountant

LHH is seeking Senior Accountant candidates for a great open-ended contract position that can be temp to hire with a top company in Hauppauge. This is an on-site position requiring full-time presence in office. The desired candidate will have previous experience working in accounting or finance with a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and at least 3–5 years of relevant experience. The pay rate for this position is $36 - $42 an hour and $75,000 - $95,000/annually.

 

Responsibilities:

·        Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements

·        Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes

·        Analyze financial results and variances, providing insights to leadership

·        Maintain general ledger accuracy and ensure compliance with accounting standards

·        Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities

·        Support internal and external audits, including preparation of schedules and documentation

·        Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting

·        Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and controls

·        Maintain and update financial records, systems, and reporting tools

 

Required Qualifications:

 

·        3–5+ years of experience in accounting or finance

·        Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards

·        Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

·        Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

·        Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

 

Preferred Qualifications:

·        CPA certification or progress toward CPA

·        Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, NetSuite, or Oracle

·        Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis)

·        Experience supporting audits and working with external auditors

·        Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Work Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, 40 hours per week
