Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support a fast‑paced accounting team in Houston. The ideal professional is highly analytical, detail‑oriented, and comfortable managing critical accounting functions with minimal oversight. This role is well‑suited for someone who can quickly step into complex work, meet tight deadlines, and collaborate cross‑functionally.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close activities
• Prepare and analyze journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Assist with financial statement preparation in accordance with GAAP
• Analyze variances and provide explanations to management
• Support audit requests and ensure compliance with internal controls
• Maintain and improve accounting procedures and documentation
• Assist with special projects, process improvements, and ad‑hoc reporting
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls
• Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel
• Demonstrated ability to work independently in a deadline‑driven environment
• Strong analytical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
