Senior Accountant

Are you a seasoned accounting professional ready to take the next step in your career? A dynamic and growing organization in the transportation industry is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its high-performing Finance & Accounting team in Houston, TX.

About the Role

As a Senior Accountant, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting strategic decision-making across multiple business units. Reporting directly to the Controller, this position offers the opportunity to work on complex accounting functions, tax compliance, and financial analysis in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close deliverables
  • Support financial statement preparation and external audit requests
  • Conduct variance and flux analysis for financial reviews
  • Manage and assist with tax filings (property, sales/use, etc.) and compliance
  • Maintain and reconcile fixed asset schedules and depreciation
  • Document and improve accounting processes and internal controls
  • Mentor junior accounting staff and contribute to team development
  • Leverage accounting systems to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • 4+ years of progressive experience
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls

Pay Details: $85,000.00 to $100,000.00 per year
