Senior Accountant

Overview

The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing complex accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting the month‑end and year‑end close processes. This role serves as a key contributor to the general ledger, financial statement preparation, and internal controls, while partnering closely with management, auditors, and cross‑functional teams.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes

  • Prepare and review complex journal entries, accruals, and adjustments

  • Perform and review balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations

  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP

  • Assist with preparation and review of financial statements and management reports

  • Analyze variances, trends, and discrepancies; provide explanations to leadership

  • Support external audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor inquiries

  • Maintain and enhance internal controls, policies, and accounting procedures

  • Serve as a subject‑matter resource for junior accounting staff; provide guidance and review work as needed

  • Participate in process improvements, system implementations, and special projects


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience (public and/or industry)

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting

  • Proven experience owning portions of the month‑end close

  • Experience preparing or reviewing financial statements

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel

  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Dynamics, etc.)

  • Ability to collaborate cross‑functionally and explain financial information to non‑finance partners




Pay Details: $80,000.00 to $100,000.00 per year
