Senior Accountant
Overview
The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing complex accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting the month‑end and year‑end close processes. This role serves as a key contributor to the general ledger, financial statement preparation, and internal controls, while partnering closely with management, auditors, and cross‑functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and execute month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes
Prepare and review complex journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
Perform and review balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations
Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP
Assist with preparation and review of financial statements and management reports
Analyze variances, trends, and discrepancies; provide explanations to leadership
Support external audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor inquiries
Maintain and enhance internal controls, policies, and accounting procedures
Serve as a subject‑matter resource for junior accounting staff; provide guidance and review work as needed
Participate in process improvements, system implementations, and special projects
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
5+ years of progressive accounting experience (public and/or industry)
Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting
Proven experience owning portions of the month‑end close
Experience preparing or reviewing financial statements
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Dynamics, etc.)

Ability to manage deadlines in a fast‑paced close environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable working independently with limited supervision
Ability to collaborate cross‑functionally and explain financial information to non‑finance partners
Pay Details: $80,000.00 to $100,000.00 per year
