Senior Accountant

LHH is assisting our Indy based healthcare client in their search for a qualified Senior Accountant to add to their team. The Senior Staff Accountant will serve as a central driver of Finance operations, treasury management, month-end close, regulatory reporting, and strategic execution. This role carries independent decision-making authority, process ownership, and visible influence across both culture and leadership alignment. Job Description
- Strong understanding of treasury operations, general ledger systems, and regulatory reporting
- Experience with Medicare cost report, Form 990, grant compliance, audit coordination, and financial modeling preferred
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and prepare related journal entries
- Ensure accounting functions are conducted in compliance with GAAP
- Assist with timely and accurate financial closes
- Identify opportunities for process improvement
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, ideally within healthcare or nonprofit sector
- Critical thinker. Results-oriented. Strong problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated, able to deal with change, and demonstrate a proficiency for collaboration, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.
- Prior experience in an FQHC, CMHC, or grant-funded healthcare environment is strongly preferred
