Senior Accountant
Accounting & Finance
LHH is partnering with a growing organization in the San Diego area to identify an experienced Senior Accountant to join its accounting team.
This is a great opportunity for an accountant who enjoys being hands-on with the numbers but also wants broader exposure and the ability to make an impact. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in the month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and day-to-day accounting while partnering with leadership on process improvements and special projects.
This role could be a strong fit for someone who has built a solid foundation in accounting and is ready for increased ownership, visibility, and continued career growth.
What You'll Be Doing
Take ownership of key areas of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close
Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
Assist with financial statement preparation and reporting
Perform balance sheet and general ledger account analysis
Research and resolve accounting discrepancies
Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis as needed
Assist with external audits and preparation of supporting documentation
Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiencies
Support special projects and additional accounting initiatives as the organization continues to grow
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
3+ years of progressive accounting experience
Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting
Hands-on experience with month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations
Strong Excel skills, including experience working with large data sets
Experience with an ERP or major accounting system
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
Why Consider This Opportunity?
High-visibility role with exposure to accounting and finance leadership
Opportunity to take ownership rather than simply process transactions
Variety of responsibilities and projects
Ability to help improve processes and build efficiencies
Collaborative team environment
Opportunity for continued professional growth and advancement
If you're a Senior Accountant who enjoys digging into the numbers, solving problems, and taking ownership of your work, we'd love to connect.
