Senior Accountant

LHH Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a well-established organization is seeking a Senior Accountant for a long-term contract assignment. This role is fully onsite and will support core accounting functions including month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate has strong technical accounting experience and thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Senior Accountant – Contract (6–12 Months)
Location: Wilmington, DE (Fully Onsite)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, Full-Time
Assignment Length: 6–12 Month Contract
Key Responsibilities:
- Support full month-end and quarter-end close processes
- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
- Perform balance sheet and income statement analysis
- Assist with financial reporting and variance analysis
- Support audit requests and documentation (internal and external)
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including FP&A and Operations
- Identify process improvement opportunities within accounting workflows
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP and month-end close
- Prior experience in corporate or life sciences/pharma environment preferred
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP)
- ERP system experience required (SAP, Oracle, or similar)
- Ability to work fully onsite, Monday through Friday
