LHH is seeking a SENIOR ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT for a direct hire position in Houston, TX.
Position: SENIOR ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT, Methanol Operations
Type: direct hire
Location: HYBRID SCHEDULE (3 days onsite/2 days remote) – 77010 zip code
Salary: $64,000-72,000 annually DOE
Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM (Hybrid eligible based on business needs)
SUMMARY
The Methanol Department is expanding its footprint across four strategic segments: Methanol Distribution in North America, Methanol Trading and Positioning, Ocean Vessel Operations, and Project Development in Latin America. The Senior Assistant, Methanol Operations will play a pivotal role in logistics coordination and documentation management for bulk methanol shipments. This position demands strong relationship management, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Coordinate deliveries across North America, including truck, barge, and rail logistics
Monitor customer demand and process purchase orders
Liaise with internal sales teams to align delivery schedules, pricing, and inventory
Negotiate carrier contracts and manage rate agreements
Prepare and manage shipping documents and instructions
Track transaction costs and resolve delivery-related issues
Maintain inventory records and ensure accurate SAP and Excel data entry
Process freight payments, demurrage, and other logistics costs
Handle invoicing, collections, and credit exposure tracking
Manage Bills of Lading and month-end invoicing
Provide exceptional customer service and support general administrative tasks
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School Diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree is a plus
Experience:
1–4 years in liquid bulk transportation or terminal operations
1–4 years in shipping documentation, billing, and accounting accrual
1–4 years in customer service and logistics coordination
SAP system and Excel control sheet experience preferred
Credit and accounting knowledge desirable
SKILLS
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
Organizational and time management skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Understanding of supply chain operations and logistics challenges
Accuracy and efficiency in documentation and reporting
Pay Details: $64,000.00 to $72,000.00 per year
