LHH is partnering with a highly respected professional services firm in Washington, DC to identify a seasoned Senior Billing Specialist. Position Overview
The Senior Billing Coordinator will take ownership of the full billing lifecycle, ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely invoicing for a portfolio of internal stakeholders. This individual will serve as a key liaison between finance and legal teams, helping to streamline billing operations while maintaining strict adherence to client-specific billing requirements. You’ll join a close-knit team where collaboration is essential and individual contributions are highly visible.

Compensation
Salary Range: $85,000 – $120,000 dependent on experience

Key Responsibilities
Manage the end-to-end billing cycle, including preparation, review, and finalization of invoices
Perform detailed billing edits such as narrative revisions, rate adjustments, and write-offs
Ensure compliance with complex client billing requirements and guidelines
Oversee electronic billing submissions and resolve any rejections or discrepancies
Partner with attorneys and internal staff to gather billing details and meet deadlines
Maintain and apply client-specific billing rules within financial systems
Review time entries for accuracy and alignment with billing policies
Generate billing reports, metrics, and ad hoc analyses as needed
Assist with cash application activities and support accounts receivable functions
Contribute to process improvements and support team members on shared deliverables
Qualifications
5+ years of billing experience within a law firm or professional services environment
Strong knowledge of client billing compliance standards (including Outside Counsel Guidelines)
Experience with billing platforms such as 3E/Elite and electronic billing tools
Familiarity with timekeeping systems and financial workflows
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
