LHH is assisting a client with their need for a Senior Collections Specialist in Charlotte, NC. This is a direct hire position offering competitive compensation, benefits and a hybrid work schedule. Please read on for more details!
Responsibilities
Manage a portfolio of accounts and lead collection efforts on past-due balances.
Review aging reports, monitor delinquent accounts, and prioritize collection activity based on risk and exposure.
Contact customers regarding overdue invoices, payment discrepancies, and account status updates.
Investigate and resolve billing disputes, short payments, unapplied cash, and other account issues in partnership with internal teams.
Evaluate customer creditworthiness and support decisions related to credit limits, order holds, and account reviews.
Negotiate payment plans and recommend appropriate next steps for unresolved balances.
Maintain accurate documentation of collection activity, customer communication, and account status.
Prepare regular reporting on collections performance, aging trends, and high-risk accounts.
Support month-end activities related to accounts receivable and account reconciliation.
Provide guidance on best practices and assist with process improvements to strengthen collections performance.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in credit, collections, accounts receivable, or a related function.
Strong understanding of credit and collections practices, aging analysis, and dispute resolution.
Experience assessing account risk and working with customers to secure timely payment.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
Ability to analyze account activity, identify trends, and recommend solutions.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working in ERP or accounting systems.
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.
Pay Details: $60,000.00 to $68,000.00 per year
