Senior Director / VP of Manufacturing
Procurement & Supply Chain
LHH is assisting a growing medical device manufacturer with a Senior Director or Vice President of Manufacturing to lead end‑to‑end operations, scale‑up, and sustaining engineering. This leader will oversee a large production organization, partner closely with R&D, and drive manufacturability, process excellence, and operational strategy.
This role is 100% onsite, highly visible, and integral to the company’s next stage of growth.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all manufacturing operations including production, scale‑up, optimization, and operational excellence.
Oversee sustaining engineering and continuous improvement initiatives.
Drive NPI readiness and design transfer in collaboration with R&D.
Provide strong manufacturability leadership and influence engineering design.
Manage supplier and vendor relationships; oversee process validation and compliance.
Own budgeting, capacity planning, and executive‑level operations reporting.
Lead a team of ~40–50 employees including 3–4 supervisors and a Production Supervisor.
Required Experience
8–15+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership within regulated environments.
Medical device manufacturing experience required (complex, multi‑component devices).
Not suitable for biotech, pharma, or therapeutics backgrounds.
Demonstrated ownership of end‑to‑end manufacturing operations.
Strong engineering foundation capable of guiding R&D for manufacturability.
Proven stability in tenure; at least one role of 4+ years preferred.
Experience leading NPI, scale‑up, sustaining engineering, and design transfer.
Comfortable in fast‑paced, hands‑on environments with cross‑functional leadership.
Systems & Tools
Experience with manufacturing systems, operational tools, and ERP platforms.
NetSuite strongly preferred
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, or Manufacturing required.
Mechanical Engineering degree strongly preferred.
Advanced degree preferred
Compensation: $200k-$270K
