Senior Payroll Manager

A leading organization is seeking a Senior Payroll Manager to oversee payroll operations for a workforce of over 60,000 employees across the U.S. and Canada. This is a high-impact leadership role ideal for someone with deep payroll expertise, strong compliance knowledge, and a hands-on approach to team development.


🔍 What You’ll Do

  • Lead payroll processing for salaried, hourly, tipped, seasonal, and union employees.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and Canadian payroll regulations.

  • Collaborate with HRIS, Benefits, Accounting, and external vendors to maintain system integrity.

  • Train and mentor payroll team members, fostering accountability and operational excellence.

  • Identify and resolve process inefficiencies and compliance risks.

  • Manage payroll systems, reporting, and audits across multiple FEINs and jurisdictions.


What You Bring

  • 7+ years of payroll experience, including 3+ years in a managerial role within a high-volume environment (10K+ employees).

  • CPP certification required.

  • Experience with timekeeping, POS, and payroll systems.

  • Strong understanding of wage and hour laws, garnishments, payroll tax, and regulatory reporting.

  • Multi-state experience including California; Canadian payroll experience preferred.

  • Background in publicly traded companies is a plus.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Ability to lead in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.


💼 Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary: $120,000–$130,000

  • Performance-based bonus
