Overview

LHH is partnering with a well-established and growing commercial real estate organization seeking a Senior Property Accountant to support a portfolio of complex properties. This role offers strong visibility to leadership, a collaborative team environment, and the opportunity to work across a full lifecycle of real estate accounting.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys owning the financials for assigned properties, partnering with operations, and contributing to a high-performing, service-oriented team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle accounting for assigned commercial real estate properties

  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements, variance reports, and supporting schedules

  • Post journal entries (cash and accrual) and maintain general ledger accuracy

  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and monitor cash activity

  • Review tenant billings, rent rolls, and delinquency reports; ensure proper application of cash receipts

  • Review and approve accounts payable batches and maintain property cash balances

  • Partner with property management to meet all reporting deadlines, including monthly reporting, budgets, and escalations

  • Prepare CAM reconciliations, tax escalations, and owner distributions

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, management agreements, and internal controls

  • Assist with audits and provide documentation to internal/external stakeholders

  • Support process improvements and assist with mentoring junior staff as needed


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred

  • 4+ years of commercial real estate/property accounting experience (fee-based preferred)

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, accrual accounting, and financial reporting

  • Experience with CAM reconciliations, budgeting, and variance analysis

  • Proficiency in Yardi, MRI, or similar real estate accounting systems

  • Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail

  • Ability to manage multiple properties and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally



Pay Details: $80,000.00 to $90,000.00 per year
