Senior Staff Accountant

Position Summary
The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting accurate and timely financial reporting through ownership of general ledger activities, month‑end close, account reconciliations, and financial analysis. This role partners closely with finance leadership and cross‑functional teams to ensure compliance with GAAP, support audits, and drive continuous process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
Own month‑end and year‑end close processes
Perform balance sheet and bank reconciliations; investigate and resolve variances
Maintain accuracy and integrity of the general ledger
Assist with monthly financial statements and management reporting
Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls
Assist with external audits and provide audit support documentation
Partner cross‑functionally with FP&A, AP/AR, and operational teams
Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiencies
Mentor and review work of junior accounting staff as needed
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience (corporate or public accounting)
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
Experience with month‑end close and general ledger ownership
Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP)
Experience working within ERP systems (Oracle, NetSuite, Dynamics, SAP, etc.)
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
CPA or CPA‑track
Public accounting or audit background
Experience in manufacturing, life sciences, or high‑growth environments
Experience supporting audits or complex entities
Prior mentoring or reviewing junior staff work
Pay Details: $42.00 to $46.00 per hour
