Sr. Payroll Specialist

Our client, a growing organization with a complex, multi-state footprint, is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to support their payroll operations. This role is heavily focused on certified payroll and prevailing wage compliance, making it a great fit for someone with experience in regulated or project-based environments. This temp to hire role offers $38-$43 per hour based on experience.
What You’ll Be Doing
Process multi-state payroll across various pay cycles, ensuring accuracy and compliance
Prepare and review certified payroll reports and supporting documentation
Interpret and apply prevailing wage requirements, including proper classifications and fringe calculations
Support payroll audits by reviewing timecards, payroll registers, and compliance documentation
Reconcile discrepancies and partner with internal teams to resolve issues efficiently
Maintain detailed payroll records and assist with reporting and process improvements
What We’re Looking For
5+ years of payroll experience, with a strong focus on certified payroll and/or prevailing wage environments
Hands-on experience with multi-state payroll processing
Solid understanding of prevailing wage (Davis-Bacon preferred) and compliance requirements
Experience with ADP Workforce Now strongly preferred
Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs)
Detail-oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Nice-to-Have
CPP or FPC certification
Background in construction, manufacturing, or other project-driven industries
Experience supporting audits or working with compliance-heavy payroll environments
Pay Details: $38.00 to $44.00 per hour
