We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to support core accounting functions with a strong focus on lease accounting, equipment depreciation, and fixed assets. This role will play a key part in month-end close, reconciliations, and audit support, while offering growth opportunities as the organization continues to scale. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and eager to take ownership of responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Staff Accountant – Lease & Fixed Asset Accounting

Location: Allentown, PA
Schedule: Hybrid (3 days onsite)
Compensation: $60,000–$65,000 base salary

 

Key Responsibilities

Monthly & Ongoing Accounting Activities

  • Maintain and reconcile the monthly debt schedule, ensuring accurate and timely reporting
  • Perform monthly lease accounting activities, including entering new leases, reconciling lease schedules, and accounting for financing transactions related to purchased, disposed, or sold equipment
  • Track and record fixed assets and equipment depreciation in accordance with accounting standards
  • Process weekly vendor payments, including check preparation, online payments, and vendor portal transactions
  • Support month-end close activities including cash, accounts receivable, and accounts payable reconciliations
  • Assist with AR factoring reconciliations and fleet-related AP activities as needed
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet and P&L analyses, comparing period-over-period results and providing variance explanations

Audit & Tax Support

  • Assist with annual audit preparation during year-end, including gathering support and responding to auditor requests
  • Support tax-related follow-ups, including W-2 and 1099 inquiries and internal employee questions

Systems & Process Support

  • Assist with administration and reconciliation of corporate credit card systems
  • Help organize and maintain accounting documentation and shared drives
  • Contribute to the development and future implementation of standardized month-end reconciliations using Excel-based reporting tools connected to ERP data

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
  • 1–3 years of experience in accounting, accounts payable/receivable, or audit
  • Exposure to lease accounting, fixed assets, or equipment depreciation preferred
  • Strong Excel skills; experience with ERP systems a plus
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
