Staff Accountant

As a Staff Accountant, this role supports the financial close process to ensure timely, accurate, and GAAP‑compliant financial statements. Responsibilities include preparing supporting documentation for assigned general ledger accounts, processing manual journal entries, and identifying opportunities to improve the accuracy and efficiency of financial reporting. This position also plays a key role in fixed asset accounting, supporting a retail and eCommerce business, and contributing to high‑visibility accounting projects across multiple business segments.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare journal entries and perform account reconciliations for assigned general ledger accounts
Own the fixed asset close process by partnering with project managers, providing accounting guidance, and ensuring proper capitalization
Participate in monthly financial reviews by researching and explaining financial variances
Reconcile fixed assets and intercompany balances in accordance with GAAP
Support the eCommerce business from an accounting perspective through analysis and financial recommendations
Assist with year‑end audit activities, including preparation of schedules and responding to audit inquiries
Support special accounting projects and ad hoc financial analysis
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
2+ years of professional accounting experience, preferably in public accounting or a manufacturing environment
Working knowledge of US GAAP
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., JD Edwards)
Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail
Strong problem‑solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset
Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills
