Staff Accountant
Overview
A growing Oilfield Services organization in the Houston area is partnering with LHH to identify a Staff Accountant to join their team on a full-time, onsite basis.
This position offers hands-on experience in general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close, making it an excellent opportunity for early-career professionals or recent graduates looking to build a foundation within corporate finance.
Compensation & Schedule
Pay: $37.00 – $40.00 per hour
Schedule: Full-time
Work Environment: 100% onsite
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and post journal entries including accruals and allocations
Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
Assist with month-end and year-end close cycles
Maintain fixed asset and prepaid expense schedules
Support CAPEX tracking and reporting activities
Process and reconcile intercompany transactions
Assist with audit support and documentation requests
Partner with internal teams to collect and validate financial data
Analyze expense fluctuations and provide variance explanations
Support allocation of corporate expenses across entities
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
1–2 years of relevant experience OR internship experience
Recent graduates with 2+ accounting internships (including summer internships) are encouraged to apply
Experience with journal entries, reconciliations, or close processes
Strong Excel skills
Preferred Experience
Exposure to Oracle or similar ERP systems strongly preferred
Experience in energy, oil & gas, or industrial environments is a plus
Ideal Candidate Profile
Strong understanding of basic accounting principles (GAAP)
Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Pay Details: $37.00 to $40.00 per hour
