Staff Accountant
Location: Downtown Los Angeles, CA- Onsite
Salary: $70,000 – $75,000.00 annually
Our client, a non-profit located in Downtown Los Angeles, is looking to hire a Staff Accountant. The Staff Accountant will support day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with nonprofit accounting standards. This role will work closely with internal teams to maintain financial integrity and support the organization’s programs and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end and year-end close processes
Perform bank, general ledger, and balance sheet reconciliations
Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with GAAP
Assist with preparation of financial statements and internal reporting
Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
Monitor and track expenses, including grant-related or restricted funds
Assist with audit preparation and provide supporting documentation
Review transactions for accuracy and proper coding
Collaborate with internal departments to ensure timely and accurate financial data
Assist with process improvements and additional accounting projects as needed
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
2+ years of general ledger accounting experience (nonprofit experience highly preferred)
Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles
Experience with month-end close and account reconciliations
Experience with Sage Intacct highly preferred
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas)
Strong attention to detail, organization, and analytical skills
Excellent communication and ability to work in a team-oriented environment
Pay Details: $70,000.00 to $75,000.00 per year
