Tax Accountant

The Corporate Tax Accountant will support the organization’s tax function by preparing, reviewing, and maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements. This role partners closely with accounting, finance, and external advisors to ensure accurate reporting, timely filings, and alignment with changing tax regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and file federal, state, and local income tax returns, extensions, and estimated payments
Assist with quarterly and annual income tax provision calculations (ASC 740), including deferred and current tax components
Support sales/use tax, CAT, property tax, and other indirect tax filings as applicable
Assist with tax audits, notices, and correspondence with taxing authorities
Reconcile tax‑related accounts and support month‑end and year‑end close processes
Maintain tax workpapers, documentation, and supporting schedules
Research tax issues and help implement tax planning strategies to minimize risk and liability
Monitor changes in tax laws and assess potential impacts to the business
Partner with internal accounting and finance teams to support overall financial reporting and compliance initiatives
Collaborate with external tax advisors and auditors as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
5+ years of tax experience in public accounting and/or corporate tax
Working knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations
Experience with income tax provisions and compliance preferred
CPA or CPA‑eligible strongly preferred
Strong Excel skills and experience with tax or ERP systems (e.g., OneSource, CCH, SAP, Oracle, Workday, etc.)
Detail‑oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills
Professional communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally
Preferred Skills & Experience
Public accounting background with experience transitioning into industry
Multi‑state or multi‑entity tax environment experience
Exposure to international tax concepts (a plus, not required)
Ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
Pay Details: $95,000.00 to $105,000.00 per year
