Senior Manager, Tax Accounting (ASC 740)

Location: Nashville, TN Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm (Hybrid Schedule)
Salary Range: $185,000 – $192,000 based on experience + bonus


Position Overview

The Senior Manager, Tax Accounting is responsible for consolidated global interim and annual ASC 740 income tax provision calculations and disclosures. This role supports quarterly SEC reporting, oversees key tax accounting processes, and collaborates with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with U.S. GAAP.


Essential Job Duties

Tax Accounting & Financial Reporting

  • Develop and support current and deferred tax amounts included in U.S. GAAP audited financial results reported quarterly to the SEC.

  • Prepare and analyze income tax provisions and related disclosures under ASC 740.

  • Partner with tax colleagues to develop effective tax rate reconciliations and tax cash-flow support for management.

  • Identify known or expected changes in tax legislation, tax audits, and projected book-to-tax differences.

  • Maintain and update the detailed inventory of deferred tax assets and liabilities and uncertain tax position reserves.

  • Oversee balance sheet tax accounts and review related account reconciliations.

  • Assist with tax accounting methods and evaluate their impact on external financial reporting.

Tax Advisory & Compliance

  • Assist the Tax Director in advising internal stakeholders on income tax accounting matters.

  • Interpret tax statutes and regulations, monitor legislative developments, and advise management on relevant changes.

  • Ensure adherence to SOX controls within the tax function.

Process Improvement & Projects

  • Identify, initiate, and support improvements in tax processes, systems, and automation.

  • Manage domestic and international post-acquisition tax integration, including tax entries related to U.S. GAAP purchase accounting.

  • Assist with monitoring transfer pricing policies and supporting documentation.

  • Lead and support tax accounting special projects.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the work of tax professionals, including planning, assigning, scheduling, and reviewing work to ensure quality standards.

  • Participate in hiring, training, performance reviews, and development of staff.

  • Provide guidance, set priorities, and help resolve complex issues within the team.


Minimum Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • CPA certification required.

  • 10+ years of related income tax experience in public accounting or within a large multinational public company tax department.

  • 3+ years of supervisory or management experience leading associates and projects.

  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP including ASC 740 and ASC 805.

  • Strong knowledge of domestic and/or international tax statutes and regulations.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Taxation or Accounting.

  • Experience with OneSource Income Tax and Provision software.

  • Experience using tax research platforms such as Bloomberg, CCH, or Checkpoint.

  • Experience with Oracle ERP systems.



Pay Details: $185,000.00 to $192,000.00 per year
