LHH is seeking a Transportation Operations Specialist (Freight) for a direct hire opportunity with a leading infrastructure services organization based in Spring, TX. This role is designed for professionals with hands-on freight brokerage or 3PL experience who are ready to take ownership of high-volume transportation operations in a fast-paced environment.

Title: Transportation Operations Specialist (Freight)
Location: Spring, TX 77389 (The Woodlands area)
Job Type: Full-Time | On-Site


What You’ll Do
  • Own end-to-end execution of freight movements across multiple lanes (FTL, LTL, flatbed, and specialized equipment)
  • Source and secure carrier capacity through direct outreach, load boards, and established networks
  • Negotiate competitive rates and service terms to balance cost efficiency and service reliability
  • Manage the full load lifecycle including posting, coverage, rate confirmations, tracking, and delivery verification
  • Maintain proactive communication with carriers, drivers, and internal teams to ensure seamless execution
  • Monitor shipments in real time and resolve disruptions such as delays, breakdowns, or reassignments
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with carrier partners to support ongoing capacity needs
  • Utilize TMS platforms and load boards (DAT, Truckstop, etc.) to manage daily operations
  • Handle multiple shipments simultaneously in a high-volume environment with a strong sense of urgency
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings, efficiency improvements, and process optimization

What You’ll Bring
  • 2+ years of experience in freight brokerage, 3PL, or transportation logistics
  • Proven experience booking loads, sourcing capacity, negotiating rates, and managing shipments end-to-end
  • Strong understanding of FTL/LTL, carrier networks, freight lanes, and market pricing dynamics
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain carrier relationships
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to manage real-time operational challenges
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a high sense of ownership
  • Experience with TMS platforms and load boards (DAT, Truckstop); familiarity with Turvo, IES, or AI tools (Chat, Copilot, Claude) is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field preferred but not required

Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 annually (based on experience)

Schedule
