Trusts & Estates Legal Assistant

A respected law firm located near the Houston Galleria is seeking an experienced Trusts & Estates Legal Assistant to support a busy practice handling high?volume, high?stakes estate planning and trust administration matters. This role is ideal for a detail?oriented legal professional with recent and current trusts & estates experience who thrives in a fast?paced environment and enjoys supporting multiple attorneys.

 

 

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $60,000 – $75,000, DOE
  • Discretionary year?end bonus
  • Paid parking

What You’ll Do

  • Provide comprehensive administrative and legal support to multiple Trusts & Estates attorneys
  • Edit, proofread, and prepare estate planning and probate?related documents
  • Assist with pleadings, petitions, accountings, discovery, and court filings
  • Manage attorney calendars, schedules, deadlines, timekeeping, and invoicing
  • Coordinate and track probate court processes and filings
  • Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive client and fiduciary matters

 

 

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant at a Texas Trusts & Estates law firm
  • Substantial experience with estate planning documents, trust administration, and probate court procedures
  • Working knowledge of pleadings, petitions, accountings, and discovery
  • Ability to manage a high?volume workload while meeting strict deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized, detail?oriented, and proactive

 

 

Skills & Knowledge

  • In?depth understanding of estate planning and trust administration
  • Skilled in drafting, filing, and managing court documents and deadlines
  • Familiarity with local and state court systems
  • Strong legal research and writing abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent time management and case?tracking skills
