NSS / Sensor Fusion Research Engineer (m/f/d)
We are looking for a highly skilled NSS / Sensor Fusion Research Engineer (m/f/d) to join a leading global technology company in Zürich. In this role, you will contribute to the development of next-generation positioning and sensor fusion technologies, solving complex real-world challenges at a global scale.
Your Responsibilities
- Develop innovative solutions for global positioning applications, including:
- Precise Point Positioning (PPP)
- Differential GNSS (DGNSS)
- Real-Time Kinematic (RTK)
- Multi-sensor fusion using GNSS, inertial sensors, cameras, and LiDAR
- Work with large-scale datasets collected from advanced sensor systems deployed worldwide.
- Design, evaluate, and improve robust sensor architectures and positioning algorithms.
- Collaborate with a team of highly skilled researchers and engineers to solve challenging navigation and localization problems.
- Contribute to the development of cutting-edge technologies that enable accurate positioning in complex real-world environments.
- Evaluate new hardware platforms and sensor technologies and integrate them into existing systems.
Your Profile
- PhD with 5+ years of industry experience, or Master's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience in Geomatics, Robotics, Computer Science, Physics, or a related field.
- Strong programming skills in C/C++ and Python.
- Solid background in Precise GNSS and multi-sensor fusion.
- Experience with Kalman filters, least-squares estimation, and sensor fusion algorithms.
- Hands-on experience with PPP, DGNSS, and RTK positioning techniques.
- Strong understanding of GNSS observation models, including carrier phase, pseudorange, ambiguity resolution, and cycle-slip detection.
- Knowledge of ionosphere estimation and antenna modelling is highly desirable.
- Experience working with and evaluating new sensor hardware.
- Publications in conferences such as ION GNSS+, IEEE ICRA, or IEEE IROS are a strong advantage.
- Strong analytical mindset with a passion for solving complex real-world challenges.
