We are looking for a PLC Developer with a strong background in electrical engineering and experience in C# and Python. The ideal candidate has extensive experience programming industrial controllers using Structured Text, preferably with B&R systems, and developing reliable real-time automation solutions.


The role involves developing PLC software from scratch, supporting integration testing on diagnostic instruments, and creating formal software documentation. Close collaboration with hardware and software teams is essential, requiring a solid understanding of electrical schematics, cabinet layouts, component datasheets, and electrical hardware design. The successful candidate will be a pragmatic problem solver, able to work effectively in interdisciplinary teams and contribute to the development of complex automated systems.

Tasks & Responsibilities:


  • Design and develop PLC software using Structured Text
  • Program and configure B&R controllers
  • Develop modular, structured, and maintainable PLC software
  • Create and maintain technical and software documentation
  • Design and review:
    • Cable drawings
    • Wiring concepts
    • PCB designs
  • Support EMC testing activities
  • Support integration testing of instruments and automation systems
  • Analyze and troubleshoot technical issues in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
  • Interface existing automation solutions with new instrument modules
  • Support the commissioning and bring-up of new instrument components
  • Ensure seamless integration between:
    • PLC software
    • Electrical hardware
    • Mechanical subsystems
    • Higher-level software applications
  • Collaborate closely with hardware, software, and system engineering teams to deliver reliable automation solutions.

Must Haves:


  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field (minimum Fachhochschule / University of Applied Sciences level)
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on PLC development experience
  • Minimum 3 years of electrical design experience
  • Strong experience with Structured Text programming
  • Experience working with industrial controllers and real-time automation systems
  • Knowledge of PLC development tools
  • Experience with PCB schematic design tools
  • Ability to read and interpret:
    • Electrical schematics
    • Cabinet layouts
    • Component datasheets
  • Hands-on experience in:
    • Cable drawing
    • Wiring schemes
    • PCB design
  • Experience with C# and Python
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary teams
  • Fluent German
  • Good English
