Senior Automation Engineer (Biotech Process Automation)

Client Description:

A global biopharmaceutical leader focused on developing and manufacturing innovative medicines and vaccines under strict GMP standards, with advanced automation and digital manufacturing capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as a Subject Matter Expert for automation systems in GMP environments
• Implement and optimize control strategies for new and existing equipment
• Support and troubleshoot automation systems (DeltaV DCS, MES PAS-X, PLC, SCADA)
• Lead and support continuous improvement and digital transformation initiatives
• Manage automation-related investigations, deviations, and corrective actions
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, Validation, and Technical teams
• Support technology transfer and system qualification activities
• Coordinate with external vendors for service and spare parts

Candidate Profile:

• 5+ years of experience in automation controls, especially with DeltaV DCS
• 3+ years in regulated industries such as Biologics, Pharmaceuticals, or Medical Devices
• Strong knowledge of GMP, GAMP 5, and automation change control
• Proven expertise in DeltaV Batch, ISA S88/S95, and MES (PAS-X)
• Skilled in troubleshooting, system qualification, and technology transfer
• Familiar with I/O networking protocols (Ethernet/IP, OPC, Profinet, ModBus)
• Experience in commissioning, validation, and test protocol execution
• Effective communicator in English (C1); German is a plus
• Collaborative team player with cross-functional leadership experience
• Passionate about digital transformation and process optimization
