For a client company, a prestigious Global Leader in the manufacture of earthmoving machinery based in Este (Padua), we are seeking a Senior Purchasing Engineer .



Responsabilità

The person in this role will be responsible for the following activities:
  • Manage the buying process for a given set of goods in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets;
  • Apply sourcing policy and act as interface between supplier and the company with respect to specifications and budgets;
  • Develop and maintain strong functional skills and knowledge of relevant purchasing and sourcing concepts;
  • Manage problems and schedule changes and ensure changes are reflected within ERP systems;
  • Balance tactical execution with strategic initiatives necessary to drive cost reduction projects;
  • Actively participate in supplier performance reviews;
  • Ensure continuous supply and communicate any supply problems which may pose a risk or impact on business operations;
  • Monitor market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers; research and evaluate opportunities to reduce costs;
  • Deliver briefs, updates and reports as required; develop creative and innovative procurement processes and continuous improvement initiatives;
  • Negotiate contracts, improved prices and terms of business with suppliers; assess tenders/quotations and prepare purchase orders aligned with final negotiations and organisational requirements;
  • Assess and evaluate suppliers, ensure contract compliance and manage performance improvement activities; resolve price, quality, delivery or invoice issues;
  • Ensure a professional and consistent approach to supplier relationships and compliance with company purchasing policies and procedures during negotiations and contract award processes.

Candidates meeting the following requirements will be considered:

  • Highly skilled at building and maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers;

  • Strong negotiation, communication, interpersonal and influencing skills;

  • Analytical and numerically astute with proven problem identification and solution abilities; keen attention to detail and accuracy;

  • Results-oriented with ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines; ability to coordinate multiple activities simultaneously;

  • Commercially and financially aware; able to add value, reduce costs and drive business improvements;

  • Contract management and supplier management experience; project management capability;

  • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes, components and supply chain management;

  • Computer literate, including advanced Excel skills and ERP usage.
